Photo Recap from #GenYOTT

Posted by on Jan 15, 2010 in blog, Events | 0 comments

Last night, in our nation’s capital city of Ottawa, a group of Gen-Y’ers got together to network, socialize and celebrate successes. It was a fun night filled with laughter, biz talk and more importantly, new connections. Suze Muse spoke and Kyle Braatz talked about his charity, Typically Canadian.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the GenYOTT group, it was formed by Jen Butson, Japman Bajaj, Matt Richling and Brian Alkerton. They host events every month at a downtown location and generally from 7-10pm. Funds are raised at the event for a different charity and a speaker is also invited to come and talk for a short while. The hosts do an amazing job each and every time and I’m so grateful that they provide this opportunity to us all.

Here are some photos I snapped throughout the night.

Gist: A Must-Have Tool for Social Media Users (@Gist)

Posted by on Oct 13, 2009 in blog, Social Media, Videos, Web & Technology | 16 comments

If you’re anything like me, managing all of your contacts is overwhelming… to say the least.

Intro Gist – a CRM on steroids infused with a side cocktail of social media.

Gist imports your contacts from a number of places, imports your Twitter feeds, imports your Facebook activity, imports your e-mail and calendar and mashes it together in glorious goodness.  It ranks your people based on importance and relevance (based on amount of contact) and you can then organize your people with tags, etc.

It’s delicious.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention.  There’s also an iPhone app! Picture this: you’re standing at a conference and you see someone across the table and you KNOW you’ve seen them before.  A quick little search in Gist will bring up everything you want to know and more.  Including Google searches, latest blog posts, Tweets… and so much more.  This is stalking at its best.

See the screenshots I took below and also watch the video I did on my YouTube channel.
