Twestival 2009 – A Recap!

Posted by on Feb 16, 2009 in blog, Events, Social Media, Twitter | 2 comments

Last Thursday night was Twestival here in Ottawa… Well, it was also Twestival in 175+ cities around the world too! The event benefited Charity: Water which I am really excited about!

I took a few photos that I wanted to share with you here. Before I share the photos, Ben Watson (one of the organizers of Twitter) and myself were interviewed for CBC Radio. Here is the clip of that audio… Keep in mind, the quality is a little less than perfect because I was streaming live and capturing the live feed on Garage Band!

Ecto App for the Mac

Posted by on Feb 13, 2009 in blog, Web & Technology | 0 comments

I am in the process of testing out my iMac for full-time usability and in doing so, have been exploring apps that might make my life easier. One of the apps I came across was called Ecto. So, after a short download and adding my credentials to it, here I am. Testing out my very first blog entry via Ecto.

So far, it seems really cool – it shows you your past blog entries for quick editing and to do your first entry, you simply click “Write New” and blam, here I am… In an editor much like Word.

I need to keep it short as I’m heading out to see “Confessions of a Shopaholic” but I wanted to test this out… Will tell you how I like it for the long-term in a few weeks!!

Basecamp + Outpost for iPhone = Win!

Posted by on Feb 12, 2009 in blog, Web & Technology | 2 comments

So, I’m always looking for apps to add to my iPhone that help me take my business even more mobile and in mini-format.  Having my laptop is great but I can’t really carry that into a club successfully.  If I’m sitting and enjoying happy hour somewhere but want to update a client’s project, I currently had no way to do that except regular (and super boring) email.

Well my friends.  Meet Outpost.  This is an iPhone app designed to sync up with your Basecamp account to create beautiful and amazing magic.  All of the projects get synced, you can do projects, milestones, to-dos and more… This app had my blood racing this morning.

So, I’m only just in sync mode now and will report back later as to the quality and usefulness of this app but WOW – I’m stoked on this Thursday morning.

I’m a firm believer though in making things accessible to people at all levels and offering these sales is an amazing way to do that.

So, go to http://www.bsetc.ca/vday/ to save and grab some of our training, our self-study programs or a private retreat spot!  It only lasts until Saturday, February 14, 2009 at midnight.

Ciao!
