At least you HAVE an Ikea. There is not one within 4 or so hours from here at all. I wish there were, I really like their stuff.

I'm trying to organize my home. So, I wanted a simple 3$ spice rack (to use as a bookshelf) that would cost maybe a dollar or two to ship, but Nooooo. Can't buy it online. I wanted a TV stand that I'm absolutely set on using as an entryway bench, but nope, can't buy *that* online either. Really Ikea? It's my understanding that most things you buy there have to be put together anyway, like a better quality Walmart piece of furniture. So WHY do they refuse to ship? Why do they hate me? WHY won't you expand your stores to more areas then? GAH. It's like they're anti-consumer.

What a waste of time Ikea is online. they should have a section that specifies exactly WHAT you CAN buy online. I spent 30 mins browsing and everything I looked at from ornaments to linens was unavailable online. Wow, they lost me as a customer.

I agree that IKEA is missing out on a huge market to selling merchandise online. Several years ago I saw a light fixture on the front page of their catalog. I called to order, they said it wasn't available anymore, but it was on the latest catalog front cover! Anyway, I wanted the item so I asked if they could check another store. They couldn't. Ok, so I called around at the time the closest store was in NJ, I'm in NH>>> thought they could ship it to me. Nope. So, turns our my father-in-law lived in Seattle, I called the seattle store, they had the light, I asked if I could pay for it over the phone and have my father-in-law pick it up. Nope, and they would only hold it for a couple days. Needless to say, I finally got the damn thing, but what a hassle! I have to say that I LOVE the IKEA stores I just wish I could purchase online, the nearest store to me now is over and hour away....

I am very upset that I cannot get the crib for my daughter shipped here. I will not be driving 2 hours to buy it either, so like a previous person said, "someone else gets my money".

I am having a similar issue right now where I would like to buy two nightstands that aren't in stock at my local store. After seeing this I decided to go online and was excited because it said that the item could be purchased online. However, after putting the items in my shopping cart, and entering all of my shipping/billing information, it directs me back to my cart saying "One or more of your items are out of stock". !!!!!!!!! Why have the item listed online and displayed in the store if it isn't available and they're not sure when it's going to become available? It's very frustrating as I love the piece, but am not sure it's worth the effort and annoyance I'm going through. I've e-mailed the company and am waiting for a response.

Ikea is stupid. "sorry, this item doesn't ship". I'm not driving to California to buy their stuff, so someone else gets my money. It is amazing that they'll ship a bed or a sofa, but, they won't ship a coffee table or lamp. Screw ikea!
