Two of those backgrounds are from members of our project team and VirtuallyReady decided to add that on her own. I've also seen a couple of other people modify their backgrounds. We haven't asked anyone to do that, but I like the idea.

This review has been very helpful to me. It's always good to have people asking tough questions. I stayed up late last night running some tests. Throughout my testing over the past few weeks, I've noticed that Twitter profiles load inconsistently. One time you'll see a 3 second load and the next time it might take 13 seconds. At different times of the day or if certain events are impacting Twitter, I've seen a wide range of response times.

Last night at around midnight Pacific, I uninstalled the ClickableNow Firefox add-on and consistently loaded a profile page in about 3 seconds (at least 20 times in a row). Then, I installed the ClickableNow add-on. I refreshed the same profile multiple times. Again, it was consistently about 3 seconds. So, while I'm sure you experienced slowness, I believe it may have been due more to the inconsistencies of Twitter's profile loads than any impact from the ClickableNow add-on.

Hi Shannon,

Thanks for the point of clarification. Just wondering why these backgrounds have ClickableNow and the logo, etc. on their backgrounds?

Hi Erin,

Thanks for taking the time to review ClickableNow. As you noted, the service is now completely free. We hope that allows more people to consider the service and give it a try. We have a lot of very happy people with some very creative clickable backgrounds.

Just a point of clarification, we never add our logo or any of our links to your background.

Thanks again.

I wouldn't install any script just to click on peoples Twitter background; is that really all it does? Browsers run slow enough these days.

I know that Twitter is looking for ways to monetize their service; I can see basic html being allowed on premium accounts in the not too distant future. I think that would be good, as long as people don't go crazy with flashy jumping things (Avoid the Myspace look!)

Joanne - great points about looking at people's backgrounds and profiles :)

Lindsey - I agree. What's the point of spending $20 to have your profile look like everyone else's, act like everyone else's except now, you're promoting ClickableNow.com. (They add their logo and link to your background too.)
