Basecamp + Outpost for iPhone = Win!

So, I’m always looking for apps to add to my iPhone that help me take my business even more mobile and in mini-format.  Having my laptop is great but I can’t really carry that into a club successfully.  If I’m sitting and enjoying happy hour somewhere but want to update a client’s project, I currently had no way to do that except regular (and super boring) email.

Well my friends.  Meet Outpost.  This is an iPhone app designed to sync up with your Basecamp account to create beautiful and amazing magic.  All of the projects get synced, you can do projects, milestones, to-dos and more… This app had my blood racing this morning.

So, I’m only just in sync mode now and will report back later as to the quality and usefulness of this app but WOW – I’m stoked on this Thursday morning.

I’m not impressed with Outpost in the slightest. The bigged their app up and made it seem like it was going to be this shizzle.. it comes out and could barely sync with my account. We run hundreds of different projects and it simply isn’t cut out for this level of data.

I haven’t been able to successfully do anything with it since I paid £8 for it.

I cannot believe they have not released any more updates. Their app launch has been a complete disaster. Almost like they thought that it would be too much work to maintain such a big app that hundreds could potentially rely on.

I’d say they’ve done pretty well to get Cash out of so many of us, and just hide under the weight of the iTunes Store.

p.s I WANT MY MONEY BACK! You can keep your Outpost!
