i hope no one thinks of me as one of these "new media douchebags" although, it's true, i can be a bit of a douce ;)

Seriously though for me it comes a point of frustration, but I feel there might be three reasons:



1. Now that what I have been working hard at doing for over 5 years has become more popular there are numerous pretenders claiming to be the perfect solution. I am sure with your success you have seen the same thing. Yes, it's competition, and that is healthy, but it gets harder to be heard - so sometimes we have to shout a bit louder.



2. Another reason I believe might well be the frustration with the general way the economy, business and leadership (or lack thereof) is heading. In the infamous words of Peter Finch "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore". I was surprised not to see rioting in the streets of some western countries this summer. Social media has allowed everyone to have a very public voice on the matter.



3. Finally many social media douchebags are telling you to be heard you have to 'upset the apple cart' , be contrarian and stand out - BUT MAKE SURE YOU ARE SHOUTING. For some it works, but for most they just look like docuhebags too!
